At 22 years old, Anela Mosier was ready for a new beginning. After welcoming her third child in the fall of 2024, she turned to Michigan Works! Southeast and its Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth Program to help build a brighter future for herself and her family.
Anela had previous experience working in manufacturing, but she knew she wanted to pursue a career where she could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. With support from the Youth Program, she enrolled at Premier Medical Academy to earn her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Michigan Works! Southeast helped remove financial barriers by covering the cost of her classes, CNA testing fees, scrubs and mileage reimbursement, allowing Anela to stay focused on her goals and training.
Today, Anela is thriving in her new role at Springcreek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Adrian, where she enjoys helping others every day while creating greater stability for her family. She plans to continue growing her career in the medical field.
“Michigan Works! Southeast helped open the door to a career I truly love,” Anela said. “I’m grateful for the support they gave me to earn my CNA license and build a better future for my children. I love being able to help people every day.”
