The Going PRO Talent Fund Needs Your Support!
As it stands now, Michigan’s 2020 budget does not include funding for the Going PRO Talent Fund. The fund provides competitive awards to employers for short-term training of new and existing employees.
Since the program began in 2014, nearly $100 million has been awarded to more than 3,000 businesses across the state, resulting in the retention of 72,542 jobs. Since 2016, employers in the counties served by Michigan Works! Southeast have received $7.9+ million, created more than 700 new job opportunities and retained nearly 2,800 jobs.
Michigan Works! Southeast is urging the Governor’s administration and legislators in the five-county region (Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston and Wasthenaw) to support continued funding of the Going PRO Talent Fund.
