Livonia Tool & Laser is a veteran-owned manufacturer of high-quality products for the material handling and fabrication industries. Facing a challenge in finding skilled welders, they worked with Michigan Works! Southeast who introduced them to a promising young graduate from the Hillsdale Area Career Center Welding Program.
The manufacturer was eager to receive the young man’s resume and gave him the opportunity to interview and perform a weld test. Recognizing his potential, Livonia Tool & Laser offered the young man an opportunity to participate in On-the-Job Training (OJT) – an opportunity facilitated by Michigan Works! Southeast.
The results were remarkable! Livonia Tool & Laser gained a skilled welder and invested in the growth of a talented individual, who’s skills will enable the company to expand its capabilities and better serve its customers.
