Turner Electric

Turner Electric was awarded $9,000 in Going PRO grant funding last year. Due to an unexpected temporary slowdown of work load, the company was unable to complete some of the training they proposed. Turner ended up receiving $5,589 from the grant.

The benefit of the Going PRO Funding Training grant allowed Turner to maintain one of our trainers during the slow period. The company was able to afford to have him assist its warehouse/delivery employee, which helped him to better learn the materials and logistics of the electrical industry. Within five weeks, Turner was able to return him to a job site to continue his electrician training. This grant allowed Turner not to lay him off so he could continue his training in this important construction industry.

Turner currently has four apprentices to training during the 2020 school year, and the company hopes to be able to use the grant money funded through this Going PRO application to take on an additional apprentice next year.
