Investing in people is at the core of building a strong, sustainable workforce. For Elm Plating, that investment was made possible through a continued partnership with Michigan Works! Southeast.
Through the Going PRO Talent Fund, Elm Plating received $48,365 to support comprehensive workforce training initiatives designed to strengthen its team at every level. The funding enabled the company to provide hands-on training for three registered apprentices, onboard and develop eight new hires, and upskill 22 current employees — ensuring team members have the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in a competitive manufacturing environment.
By leveraging these resources, Elm Plating has not only enhanced employee skill sets but also improved retention and reinforced its long-term commitment to workforce development within the local community.
“Over the past five years, MWSE has been a consistent and reliable partner in supporting training and workforce development within our company,” said Natalie Glisson, human resources director for Elm Plating. “Their guidance and expertise have been instrumental in helping us successfully navigate both the Going PRO Talent Fund and IWT Grant processes, ensuring we maximize available opportunities for employee growth and skill development.”
With support from MWSE, Elm Plating continues to invest in its people — creating opportunities for advancement while helping build a stronger, more resilient regional workforce.
