“My name is Mariah, I’m a CNA and currently in school for my LPN. Before I met Bonnie, I was really scared of being a failure because I didn’t know what I really wanted to be in life.  The only challenges I had were with myself. I was also doubting and second guessing myself thinking I wouldn’t be good enough for a certain career.  So, I would say I was stopping me.  Michigan Works! Southeast really did help me out along the journey of me becoming a CNA.  They gave gas vouchers, scrub vouchers, shoe vouchers, and answered any questions they had an answer to and that was very well appreciated!  I put in the work to take the “entry exam” to even be able to enroll into a CNA program, had to retake it but that didn’t discourage me. I studied for everything and put extra work in lab once I was in the CNA program. I also took the gas vouchers because those did help!  The actions help me get to where I needed to get my license and made me the person I am today.  Right now, I am about 5 months away from being a Nurse and I couldn’t be more excited, with the help of Michigan Works! Southeast, it helped me push myself to be a better me and I can’t wait to see where I will be a year from now! Thank you!” – Mariah S.
